The Premier League published their official squad lists for 2025/26 on Friday, confirming a few details about Arsenal’s squad – including Noni Madueke’s homegrown status and the return of youth goalkeeper Remy Mitchell.
But there was one detail left unresolved, with Arsenal academy graduate Dan Casey not included in any of the squad lists.
Youth player Casey is out of contract, but he had an offer on the table from Arsenal, and recent reports suggest he’s on the verge of signing for Crystal Palace.
The Premier League’s only hint at that move was that Casey wasn’t included on Arsenal’s list, but he wasn’t included on Palace’s either. Evidently the contracts haven’t all been formally ratified just yet.

In other Arsenal-related news, Reiss Nelson was included in Brentford’s Premier League squad list, and Oleksandr Zinchenko was included in Nottingham Forest’s.
Though you’d assume that was a given, Zinchenko was recently excluded from Forest’s Europa League squad due to a shortage of available squad spaces. So it’ll be a relief for him that he hasn’t been left out of the Premier League squad too.
The Ukraine international obviously wasn’t in the squad to face Arsenal on Saturday, but that was just because the Gunners remain his parent club. On this one occasion, he was ineligible to make his debut.

Of course, it remains to be seen whether Ange Postecoglou actually uses Zinchenko in his team. With the player arriving on loan before Postecoglou joined the club, there are no guarantees.
Forest are next in action away to Swansea City in a League Cup fixture on Wednesday, September 17th. As for Nelson and Brentford, their next game is at home to Chelsea today at 20:00 BST.
