Flamengo are in line for more than R$ 6m in FIFA payments for World Cup call-ups, according to Coluna Do Fla. The club have nine players at the tournament.

Based on accrued days, the sums are: Brazil, 32 days at R$ 100,000 for four players, R$ 3.2m. Uruguay, 29 days at R$ 75,000 for three, R$ 2.175m. Ecuador, 28 days at R$ 25,000 for one, R$ 700,000, and Colombia, 35 days at R$ 25,000 for one, R$ 875,000, for a total of R$ 6.95m. Figures reflect each nation’s group-stage end date, when only Brazil had a confirmed next-round fixture.

Uruguay face Spain on Friday 26 and could be eliminated depending on the result.

Colombia are already through after beating Uzbekistan and Congo, and will decide their position in Group K against Portugal on Saturday 27 at 20:30 Brasília time in Miami.

Brazil meet Japan on Monday 29 at 14:00 Brasília time.

Ecuador advanced thanks to a Plata strike, finishing Group E on four points as one of the eight best third-placed teams, and now await their opponent.

Flamengo’s contingent are Alex Sandro, Danilo, Léo Pereira and Lucas Paquetá for Brazil, Arrascaeta, De La Cruz and Varela for Uruguay, plus Plata and Carrascal for Ecuador and Colombia respectively.
