The draw for the 2026 World Cup qualifying play-offs has taken place with Wales, Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland finding out their opponents.

The UEFA part of the draw was preceded by the inter-confederation play-offs which set up New Caledonia to take on Jamaica with the winner then progressing to face DR Congo for a spot in the World Cup. Meanwhile Bolivia will face Suriname with Iraq waiting for them in the other final.

Wales have been placed in Path A where they will host Bosnia and Herzegovina with the winner of that game then going on to play Italy or Northern Ireland – a tough trip for Michael O'Neill's side. Should Wales progress to the final of their Path they will have home advantage against their opponents.

Path B sees Ukraine and Sweden facing off in one semi-final where the winner will face either Poland or Albania. Then in Path C, Turkey will take on Romania with Slovakia and Kosovo in the other game,

Finally, the Republic of Ireland were placed in Path D where they will face Czech Republic with the winner of that game taking on either Denmark or North Macedonia. The winner of the Republic of Ireland's game will be home for the final of Path D.

First games will be played on March 26 with the finals on March 31st.
