Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Mönchengladbach played out a 1-1 draw to round of the Saturday games in the Bundesliga.
A game of two halves (in the first half) as Gladbach started off more strongly than the visitors but were never able to create any meaningful chances. They would have a Robin Hack goal disallowed before a Florian Neuhaus cross was met be the head of Tim Kleindienst to give Gladbach the lead. However, this lead would not last for long as Frankfurt slowly were on top. A parried shot fell straight to Hugo Ekikté to equalise before Frankfurt would miss a great chance when Ansgar Knauff’s cross across the face of goal was touched by Ekitké but the small touch diverted the ball out of the path of Michy Batshuayi, stopping him scoring on his debut.
Frankfurt were the better side for much of the second 45. Gladbach started to sit back more and more as the game progressed and were able to hold off Die Adler for most of the second half and when Frankfurt did have a good chance, Mortiz Nicolas would pull of a save. The final big chance of the game came right at the end when Luca Netz riffled a cross across the face of the Frankfurt goal but no Gladbach player who get on the end of it.
The visitors will probably be upset with a draw and wish they could of finished their chances and come away with the three points, while as pointed out, Gladbach were happy with the draw as they slowly dropped deeper. The point consolidates Frankfurt’s position in the Champions League, while Gladbach keep the distance between them and the European places at two points.

Was by far Frankfurt’s most active player in attack. Away from his poachers finish, he could have probably had a hat-trick if it were not for his missed chances. It seems that since the departure of Omar Marmoush to Manchester City, Ekitiké has taken a big step in his performances as if he is aware that he is Frankfurt’s main man in attack. The only issue in this game, is at times it looked like the striker was doing everything buy himself and lack support from his teammates.
