Inter Miami powered into the MLS Cup Final with a 5-1 demolition of New York City, Tadeo Allende hitting a hat-trick in the Eastern Conference Final.
Miami pressed high from the off and struck in the 14th minute through Allende, who doubled the lead nine minutes later. Justin Haak headed City back into it in the 37th minute. As reported by interheron.com, here are the player ratings.
The Herons held firm after the interval, then Mateo Silvetti made it three in the 67th minute, Telasco Segovia added an 83rd-minute fourth and Allende completed the scoring on 89.
Goalkeeper and defence: Rocco Rios Novo nine, his 66th-minute stop effectively saved the game. Jordi Alba eight. Noah Allen seven point eight, Maximiliano Falcon seven point seven, Marcelo Weigandt seven.
Midfield: Rodrigo de Paul seven point eight. Sergio Busquets eight, with one more game before retirement. Baltasar Rodriguez seven point seven.
Attack: Mateo Silvetti eight after tireless pressing and a goal. Lionel Messi eight point nine, integral despite not scoring. Allende 10, his treble underlining a strong case for a permanent deal.
Substitutes: Ian Fray seven point eight. Yannick Bright eight point two for disruption in midfield. Telasco Segovia eight after scoring. Luis Suarez not applicable.
Coaching: Javier Mascherano’s changes were spot on and his plan blunted City’s strengths. This was probably his first perfect game in charge.
