Lazio were beaten 0-2 by Atalanta on a bleak night at a sparsely populated Stadio Olimpico, the woodwork denying them twice. Ederson converted from the spot, then Nicola Zalewski added a second.

According to The Laziali, the result has virtually ruled the Biancocelesti out of the top six race, with player ratings reflecting a wasteful display.

Ivan Provedel erred with an early rush, and while neither goal was blamed on him, he might have done better with Zalewski’s strike. Oliver Provstgaard impressed in Alessio Romagnoli’s absence and produced a fine goal-line header. Mario Gila kept Nikola Krstovic quiet before a knee issue forced him off, and Adam Marusic was loose positionally and missed presentable chances. Nuno Tavares showed improvement but his delivery was inconsistent.

Kenneth Taylor was Lazio’s standout, outworking Marten de Roon, regaining possession repeatedly and striking a post. Danilo Cataldi slid to block only for the ball to hit an arm for the penalty, then lost composure after Zalewski’s celebration. Fisayo Dele-Bashiru had little impact yet stayed on, underlining Maurizio Sarri’s limited options.

Gustav Isaksen tormented Honest Ahanor before he was withdrawn, but found less joy once Sead Kolasinac arrived and was casual in the build-up to the second. Daniel Maldini dribbled neatly yet misplaced passes, looking more comfortable after switching left and during a brief central stint. Tijjani Noslin mixed bright moments with sloppiness and was denied by Marco Carnesecchi’s diving save.

Patric was tidy after replacing Gila at half-time. Nicolo Rovella lifted the tempo with crisp passing but the improvement came too late. Petar Ratkov headed against the post before scuffing a stoppage-time opening.
