Lazio extended their winless run to four in a row after settling for a 2-2 draw against their visitors, Fiorentina.

The Biancocelesti dominated the first half, but it ended goalless. After the break, Danilo Cataldi put the hosts in the lead, but the opener was swiftly nullified by Robin Gosens’ equalizer. In the final minutes of normal time, Albert Gudmundsson won and converted a controversial penalty, but Pedro replied from the same spot in the dying embers of the match.

Here are our player ratings for Lazio, who at least managed to avoid a defeat to the struggling Fiorentina thanks to a last-gasp equalizer.

Lazio XI (4-3-3)

Ivan Provedel – 5.5

The Italian goalkeeper wasn’t at fault for either Fiorentina goal, but didn’t pull off any big saves either. He managed to reach Gudmundsson’s spot-kick, but didn’t put enough power to deny it.

Manuel Lazzari – 6.5

The full-back was a real livewire, trotting up and down the right flank until he picked up a cramp. He also did well to neutralise Gudmundsson for the most part.

Mario Gila – 5.5

The Spaniard did really well in his physical duels against Roberto Piccoli and Moise Kean, but he was part of the fumble that culminated in Fiorentina’s first goal, and also gave away the penalty that resulted in the second, albeit it was a harsh decision.

Alessio Romagnoli – 6

The experienced defender often didn’t have a man to mark, but marshalled the backline with ease and confidence.

Luca Pellegrini – 6

The left-back prevailed in his duel against Fabiano Parisi, but his crossing and set-piece delivery left much to be desired.

Matteo Guendouzi – 6

With such tenacity and fighting spirit, one wouldn’t have guessed that the Frenchman is on his way out of the club. However, he misplaced his passes on a few too many occasions.

Danilo Cataldi – 7

The Lazio stalwart punished his former employers, who opted against keeping him last summer, by putting on a clinic in the middle of the park. His opener was a result of brilliant control, dribble, run and finish, encapsulating his often-overlooked technical skill set.

Toma Basic – 6

The Croatian wasted an early chance, as he couldn’t place his shot past David De Gea. Helped Lazio dominate the middle of the park, but his evening ended after 28 minutes when he left the pitch carrying a knock.

Gustav Isaksen – 5

A timid performance from the Dane, who wasted an inviting counter-attack in the early minutes with a weak pass. Looked shaky every time he had the ball at his feet.

Matteo Cancellieri – 6

The Italian winger certainly didn’t disgrace himself in the false 9 role. Put Basic through on goal with a clever pass, and his movement caused havoc for the Fiorentina defenders in the early going. However, his impact waned as the game progressed.

Mattia Zaccagni – 6

The Lazio captain isn’t enjoying his best run, but he still wins more fouls than any other player, including one that earned his team a late penalty. He could do with an understudy who can take some of the burden off his shoulders.

Substitutes

Matias Vecino – 6.5

A lively outing from the Uruguayan veteran, who provided a sublime assist for Cataldi’s opener.

Pedro – 6.5

The Spaniard hadn’t made himself noticed during his cameo, but eventually emerged as Lazio’s savior thanks to his ice-cold last-gasp penalty.

Elseid Hysaj – N/A
