The 32-year-old right-back is highly regarded at West Ham. He has a contract until the end of the season, but talks are currently underway to keep him at the club beyond the summer.

Coufal has dropped down the pecking order behind Aaron Wan-Bissaka, but the Hammers feel he can still be a valuable member of the squad.

He is now ready to sign a new contract extension. His compatriot, Tomas Soucek, has two years remaining at West Ham.

Good decision from West Ham to extend deal for Vladimir Coufal

The experienced defender has made three starts in the Premier League, and five more appearances have come from the bench.

Julen Lopetengui has mainly used Wan-Bissaka in the right-back role, but Coufal is equally reliable.

Since joining the Hammers from Slavia Prague in 2020, Coufal has made 165 appearances for the club in all competitions.

He still has loads of quality, and it makes a lot of sense to keep him at the club for a few more years. It is unclear about the nature of the deal, but he will probably would be given a short-term deal.

Who could leave West Ham?

The report adds that Danny Ings is facing an uncertain future at West Ham.

The 32-year-old striker has made just one start in the Premier League under Lopetegui. He has scored one goal and an assist and has underperformed.

Signing a new striker is a priority for the Hammers, and they have earmarked Middlesbrough striker Emmanuel Latte Lath as a potential option.
