An interesting update from a football agent regarding recent media transfer claims about this Newcastle United player.

It had been claimed recently that Emil Krafth could sign for FC Copenhagen in January.

The Danish club are competing in the Champions League as well as domestic competitions this season and have recently lost their first choice right-back to long-term injury, hence potentially set to sign a right-back in this upcoming transfer window.

However, Emil Krafth’s agent has now make clear that this is not going to happen.

Swedish media outlet Fotboll Direkt got in touch with Patrick Mork, the Newcastle United defender’s agent.

Mork saying that whilst FC Copenhagen is a great club, the reality is that no club in Scandinavia could pay anything close to what Emil Krafth earns at Newcastle United.

Krafth’s agent adding that there is also no chance of such a move happening, due to the fact that Eddie Howe wants to keep the Sweden international defender as cover for the rest of this season.

Emil Krafth has so far started both Carabao Cup victories over Bradford and Spurs, whilst his only Premier League minutes have been playing the first half at West Ham when Kieran Trippier was ill. Compounding the fact that Tino Livramento was already a long-term injury.

Emil Krafth sees his current contract conclude on 30 June 2026 and will turn 32 before the 2026/27 season kicks off, so it looks unlikely he will be offered an extension beyond that.

However, unless a club came in with a decent offer to buy him in January, the idea of Eddie Howe cutting his squad by simply letting Emil Krafth to move on for a minimal/no transfer fee, or rest of the season loan, wouldn’t make any sense.
