Gianluca Prestianni shared a heartfelt moment with Benfica supporters in Arouca after the 2-1 win, a scene that could strengthen his bond with the stands.

According to Glorioso 1904, the Argentine winger sprinted to the stands after full-time and launched himself into the Benfica fans, later sharing the image on social media.

Prestianni began on the bench and came on in the 73rd minute as José Mourinho made attacking changes with Amar Dedić, Franjo Ivanović and Georgiy Sudakov from a big-money bench. From his cross came Ivanović’s decisive goal.

The young winger had seen his influence dip after the Real Madrid tie in the Champions League, when Vinícius Júnior accused him of racism. He then started against Gil Vicente and Porto but was substituted in both without a goal or an assist.

After last week’s Clássico against Porto, Benfica have renewed impetus in the title race and the chance to cut the gap. After 26 Liga Portugal Betclic rounds, they are third on 62 points, level with Sporting.

This season he is valued at 12 million euros and has played 33 times for Benfica, including 21 in the league, seven in the Champions League, two in the Taça de Portugal, two in the Taça da Liga and one in the Supertaça. Across 1,611 minutes, he has two goals and two assists.
