Lorent Tolaj has been in excellent form for Plymouth Argyle this season since his switch from Port Vale
Swiss forward Lorent Tolaj currently leads the League One goalscoring charts, with his form at Plymouth Argyle being particularly impressive despite the Pilgrims' struggles in the third tier following their relegation last campaign.
In what was a bitterly disappointing relegation from the EFL Championship last season, supporters of Plymouth will have been optimistic ahead of their return to the third tier, led by Bosnian boss Miron Muslic.
However, despite Muslic's assurances that he would remain at Home Park despite their relegation, he had his head turned by German outfit Schalke, and swiftly left Devon, leaving Plymouth scrambling for a new head coach.
Former Watford boss Tom Cleverley would be the man trusted to guide Plymouth forward in the third tier, handing the former Manchester United midfielder a three-year deal to join the club, and despite the Pilgrims hovering just above the relegation zone after 25 games, he remains in his post.
One shining light for Plymouth this season has been the form of their Swiss striker Lorent Tolaj, who joined the club from Port Vale in August after they met his release clause.
Tolaj has hit 12 goals and three assists in 22 appearances so far this season, leading the League One scoring charts as a result, and with the January window well underway, Plymouth will be glad that the 24-year-old has already played for two clubs this campaign, meaning he will remain at Home Park until at least the end of the season.
Nevertheless, whether Plymouth retain their League One status or not, there will be concerns looming over a potential summer exit.

As is a priority with almost every club in the transfer window, regardless of what division they find themselves in, a striker is almost always at the top of the shopping list.
Strikers are one of the trickiest positions to buy for on the pitch, as they must be able to complete a multitude of tasks aside from merely sticking the ball in the back of the net.
Nevertheless, a forward who consistently scores goals will always be the subject of interest from elsewhere, and that is bound to be no different with Tolaj.
A product of the Brighton and Hove Albion academy, Tolaj's journey to this stage hasn't exactly been straightforward, having to delve as low as the fifth tier with Aldershot Town to establish himself in English football.
The Swiss forward has crept up the league year by year, and will look to continue that trend by playing Championship football as soon as possible.
Tolaj will be going nowhere this January, having only joined the club just months ago and played for Port Vale already this season, but clubs in the second tier will, without a doubt, be monitoring his situation regardless.
Plymouth will be hoping that they can evade any potential interest that comes their way for Tolaj next summer, with the Pilgrims still far from safe in the bottom half of League One.

Plymouth have seen an upturn in form in recent weeks after what was a difficult start to life under Cleverley.
The Pilgrims have won four, drawn two, and lost one of their last seven league outings, climbing out of the relegation zone as it stands, but with numerous teams narrowly behind them, safety is far from a guarantee.
Tolaj scored and assisted in Plymouth's recent 3-0 home win over Burton Albion, and he will, without a doubt, be integral to their efforts in climbing the table in the second half of the campaign.
Plymouth's next top scorer is Owen Oseni on four, a huge gap in margin from Tolaj.
Argyle shirt, otherwise the writing may well be on the wall in Devon.
