After a 1-3 home loss to promoted Lorient at Louis-II on Friday, Monaco have now been beaten nine times in 18 Ligue 1 matches. With form at this level, a Champions League qualification would be a miracle.
According to Nice-Matin, Sébastien Pocognoli, Thiago Scuro and Carlos Avina are not in immediate danger. They will remain in their roles until Tuesday's Champions League match in Madrid at 21:00, and president Dmitry Rybolovlev will not dismiss the trio before that game.
The defeat was a seventh in eight league outings, a grim sequence unprecedented in the club's history, and it has pushed them away from European ambitions. Sixth place, the final Europa Conference League berth, is seven points off and could drift further over the weekend.
Monaco could slide into the bottom half if Angers beat Marseille on Saturday at 21:05, or if Brest win at Lyon on Sunday at 20:45.
Publicly, the podium remains the stated aim, but inside La Turbie the Coupe de France is seen as the likeliest route to salvaging the season. The last-16 trip to Strasbourg on 5 February already looks complicated.
