Poliana previews Palmeiras v Cruzeiro clash in Brasileirão semi-final

Seeking a spot in the final, Palmeiras will host Cruzeiro at Arena Barueri this Sunday (24), at 10:30 AM (Brasília time), for the first leg of the Brazilian Women's Championship semifinals.

To reach the semifinals, Verdão defeated Flamengo in the quarterfinals with an aggregate score of 5-3: after being beaten 3-2 at Estádio Raulino de Oliveira in Volta Redonda, the Palmeiras women's team defeated the red and black team 3-0 in the return match at Arena Barueri. Defender Poliana valued the qualification.

We knew we were below par in some aspects in the first game and we were aware that we could do better playing at home, in front of our fans. We worked hard during the week to reverse the scenario and thank God we managed to get the qualification. We played a very conscious game, we managed to put into practice what Camilla proposed and we gradually dominated the situation. The good plays and goals gave us confidence and helped us grow as the game went on, so we could achieve the victory.

Camilla Orlando's team finished the first phase of the national competition in fourth place, with 30 points in 15 games, with nine wins, three draws, three losses, 37 goals scored and 20 conceded. Forward Amanda Gutierres is the top scorer in the competition, with 16 goals.
