Ponte Preta’s attempt to take Alex Nascimento on loan has not advanced because Santos have reached their limit of 16 loaned players after finalising Alexis Duarte’s loan to Libertad in Paraguay, Diario Do Peixe reports.
The club cannot authorise further departures. Also out on loan are João Fernandes, Luisão, Kevyson, Nathan, Chermont, Hayner, Hyan, Patrick, Bernardo, Enzo Monteiro, Gustavo Caballero, Billal Brahimi, Andrey Quintino, Tiquinho Soares and Felipe Laurindo.
Nascimento has been training in an alternative slot at CT Rei Pelé. He is outside Juan Pablo Vojvoda’s plans, with the centre-back pool currently Luan Peres, Adonis Frías, Basso and Zé Ivaldo.
Last season he was loaned to Athletic, making nine appearances. Before that he spent time at Portuguesa, where he played six times, and his Santos contract runs to December this year.
A São Paulo academy product, he had a spell at Fluminense before joining Santos’ under-20s in 2019 and debuting in 2020. A loan to Famalicão in Portugal followed, then injuries and Covid-19 curtailed opportunities, although Paulo Turra later handed him minutes as he featured seven times in 2023.
Since arriving at Santos he has played 34 matches and scored once. He began 2024 in rehab after fracturing his right ankle in September 2023 during preparation for a Brasileirão match against Cruzeiro, but later managed five Serie B outings against Avaí, Amazonas, Ceará, Paysandu and Ponte Preta.
