Leonardo Ponzio is set to stick with the side that beat Banfield, with Aníbal Moreno all but ruled out by a lumbar problem for Sunday’s home game against Independiente Rivadavia at the Monumental, on matchday eight of the Clausura.
According to SuperDepor.com, River worked in blocks and, if there are no setbacks in Friday and Saturday’s sessions before the camp, Ponzio will repeat both the eleven and the shape from his 3-2 debut win over Banfield. Fausto Vera is expected to keep his place, and no changes are foreseen to the matchday squad, at most a youngster could be promoted to complete it.
In a 4-3-1-2, River are likely to start Santiago Beltrán in goal with Gonzalo Montiel, Lucas Martínez Quarta, Nico Otamendi and Marcos Acuña across the back. Fausto Vera will be joined by Tobías Andrada on the right and Tomás Galván on the left, with Thiago Almada as the enganche. Up front, Seba Driussi partners Angel Correa.
Separately, River have been informed their supporters will be admitted for matchday nine on Saturday 12 September at 17:30 at the José Fierro stadium in Tucumán. The allocation is 5,000 general admission and 250 seats for away fans, with initial prices of 100,000 and 160,000 pesos.
River already had away backing at Banfield last Sunday, when the hosts provided 7,000 places in one end, which sold out at 110,000 pesos. The next two away games, before facing Boca, are Sarmiento and Belgrano, where a similar arrangement is possible.
