Porto ‘awaiting Villas-Boas’ green light’ to buy Lazio full-back | OneFootball

Porto head coach Francesco Farioli is pushing to sign Lazio left-back Nuno Tavares, but president Andre Villas-Boas will make the final call.

On Friday, Lazio confirmed Alfonso Pedraza, 30, as their first summer signing, which means one of Tavares or Luca Pellegrini is likely to be sold. According to The Laziali, Tavares has been drawing offers.

Porto are seen as the keenest suitors, with Farioli urging the hierarchy to buy the former Arsenal defender, while Villas-Boas will decide. Lazio have set an asking price of €20 million, and Arsenal would receive a 35% sell-on.

Besiktas had explored a move, but sensed the player was not keen, so they have turned to Monaco’s Dango Outtara. Fiorentina remain in the frame, though Lazio would prefer to sell abroad.

A switch to Porto would take Tavares back to Portugal for the first time since summer 2021, when he moved to Arsenal. The Lisbon native previously represented Sporting Club and Benfica.
