Porto close in on agreement to appoint Francesco Farioli

Francesco Farioli is set to become the new FC Porto head coach, according to Gianluca Di Marzio. The 36-year-old is currently without a job after leaving his role at Ajax after missing out on the Eredivisie title despite being nine points ahead in the latter stages of the season.

Once Martin Anselmi’s contract has been terminated, Porto will move to appoint Farioli whom they showed interest in appointing in January following the dismissal of Vitor Bruna. The Italian also had interest from Roma, Milan, Fiorentina and Lazio, per Football Italia.
