Porto ‘in contact’ for Milan forward Santiago Giménez | OneFootball

Porto are in exploratory contact over Milan forward Santiago Giménez, although there are no formal negotiations with the Italian club at this stage. According to O Jogo, the club would look to advance only when finances permit.

Talks with the Mexico international's representatives have been ongoing for some time. Giménez could be the attacking addition Farioli wants, although other targets remain under consideration.

Villas-Boas has said the pursuit requires patience and may be resolved only in the final days of the window.

Milan are not counting on Giménez, but prefer a permanent sale at around 20 million euros to a loan with an option to buy, a structure Porto would favour.

The report adds that Farioli has telephoned the player to present Porto's project, and the forward is said to have been convinced by what he heard.

Giménez is still recovering from an ankle injury sustained at the World Cup, though he is close to full fitness.
