According to Glorioso 1904, Porto have made an approach for Benfica player Lúcia Alves, 28, as they look to strengthen their women’s squad while preparing to secure direct promotion to the Liga BPI.
Despite the club’s persistence, the Benfica title winner is not interested in a possible move to Porto. She is also in the final stage of her contract with Benfica.
Benfica’s board have yet to open renewal talks, and there are strong possibilities the club, led by Rui Costa, move to extend her deal, with Ivan Baptista still viewing her as an important member of the squad.
For now, Alves remains fully focused on preparing for the important match against Torreense on Sunday, 5 April. A win, combined with Sporting dropping points, would clinch a sixth consecutive national title.
This season the No 13 has played 27 official matches, contributing one goal and seven assists in 2,076 minutes.
