Porto sign Tottenham left-back Souza on season-long loan, no option to buy | OneFootball

Porto have signed 20-year-old left-back Souza on a season-long loan from Tottenham.

The club said in a statement that the deal runs until 30 June 2027, includes no option to buy and that Porto will pay the defender’s wages in full.

Souza joined Tottenham in January 2026 after leaving Santos, and featured in only four matches in the 2025/26 campaign. His most recent appearance came on 15 March against Liverpool in the Premier League.

A Santos academy graduate, he stepped up to the first team in 2024. He made 38 appearances for the Peixe, scoring one goal and providing four assists, and has represented Brazil at youth level.

His transfer to Tottenham was completed in early 2026 for €15 million, then around R$ 94 million. Although Porto’s loan has no purchase clause, Santos retain 10% of any future sale by Tottenham.

Souza was recently named among the Golden Boy nominees, the only Brazilian left-back on the list.
