Porto return to the Champions League with a largely untested squad, only 10 of a 25-man group have featured in the competition.

O Jogo notes that 15 players are yet to play a minute and could make their bow this season, among them Martim Fernandes from the B list. For most of the group it is new territory, the head coach included.

Only Diogo Costa, Zaidu, Pepê, Alan Varela and André Silva have appeared in the tournament for Porto.

This will be the club’s 28th campaign. The squad changed little from last season, with no departures from the starting core.

Several could get their first outing against Manchester City in the opener for the national champions, although Froholdt, Samu and Oskar are injured and Bednarek is suspended.
