The Hatters will surely be happy enough to breakeven on winger Millenic Alli
There is a potential £1.5m transfer that makes perfect sense to both Portsmouth and Luton Town this summer.
After signing 11 players last summer, Pompey's head coach, John Mousinho, is expecting another 'busy' window.
He told The News, "We’ve got five loans going back, which obviously opens up space in the squad. We are going to have some players who move on, we’re going to have to see what happens with out-of-contract players as well, so naturally there’s movement there."
However, the deal in question centres on one of the 25/26 Portsmouth loanees returning to their parent club. So, Mousinho should leave some space in the squad for him to possibly come back...

If you haven't already guessed it, the player that Pompey and the Hatters should seriously consider doing another deal for is Millenic Alli, who Luton signed for a reported fee of £1.5m.
The 26-year-old only joined Portsmouth on loan in January, and he ended up starting every game for Mousinho from his first outing at Sheffield Wednesday through to the draw at Norwich City in early April.
Obviously, a run that stretched to 15 matches showed how quickly he became trusted. Add in the winger's fresh Republic of Ireland call-up and that shows that he is being noticed on the bigger stage.
EFL players in that position, international football, generally need to stay in the Championship if they want to keep being selected. Across 21 league games, 19 being starts, Alli managed one goal and two assists for Pompey.
On his future, Alli has already said, "I’m having a blast here [ at Portsmouth]. It’s good to play, that’s why I came here and I’ve been fortunate to get my chance.
"I can’t complain. It’s great to feel wanted and I’ve had a great response from the fans and I feel very happy here around the boys. It’s the same with the gaffer, too. It’s been great so far and the aim was to finish the job and finish strong. Now we just have to see what the future holds."
The last line suggests he could be waiting to weigh up other potential options, though. As for Mousinho's last opinion on the matter, that came in February.
Again, Mousinho spoke to The News saying that he would like to speak to Alli in the summer and try to persuade him to stay longer, but it’s "out of our hands."

As already alluded to, perhaps the biggest reason this deal should happen is the money. If Luton got their £1.5m figure back for Alli, and Portsmouth were the ones paying it, then the move would be a sensible outcome for all involved.
Also, after getting another shot at Championship football, there might not even be an appetite for Alli to return to Kenilworth Road in the third tier, especially when remembering he fell out of favour at Luton before leaving.
In the last summer window, the Hampshire outfit spent a reported £1.2m outlay on Mark Kosznovszky, but they'll have to spend more money if they don't want to end up near the bottom again next season.
According to Capology estimates, Alli earned an estimated £7.5k per week during his loan spell at Fratton Park, which was about the middle of the pack in comparison to his temporary teammates.
It remains to be seen what exactly Alli is waiting for upon deciding his future, but he already knows Mousinho's system and would be fairly inexpensive to buy.
