Potential announcement date revealed for new Barcelona signing | OneFootball

Barcelona had wrapped up the deal to sign Karim Adeyemi earlier in the month, with the Catalan swooping out of nowhere to acquire the services of the explosive winger.

Borussia Dortmund have already confirmed the player will be leaving the club, but Barcelona are yet to officiate the move.

Adeyemi, in fact, had arrived at Barcelona last week to complete his medical and was supposed to wait for the official announcement, which never came.

On that note, Diario SPORT has issued a fresh update on the Adeyemi saga, confirming that Barcelona should soon be able to announce the deal.

The report suggests the Adeyemi deal could be announced either Tuesday or Wednesday.

This comes on the back of a delay after club president Joan Laporta had travelled to the United States to witness the FIFA World Cup between Spain and Argentina, with Lamine Yamal and co. helping La Roja seal the title.

Once Laporta is back, Barcelona should be able to officiate Adeyemi, make him sign the contract. The player is expected to give a statement right afterwards.

Adeyemi, for his part, is all ready to play for Barcelona next season.

Having arrived as soon as last week, the player was able to train at Ciutat Esportiva and is already getting used to the city. It is well known that his partner played a key role in convincing him to move to Barcelona.

The report adds that Adeyemi should be able to start training officially by Wednesday, under the leadership of Hansi Flick.

The German international is a shrewd choice by Flick. But his pace and ability as a runner could significantly help him improve Barcelona’s first line of press.

Adeyemi also comes with a solid productivity record at Dortmund, having racked up 36 goals and 25 assists during his time at Dortmund.
