A power cut in the Parque Ecológico do Tietê area forced Corinthians to cancel Friday’s planned unveiling of forward Kaio César at CT Dr Joaquim Grava.
According to Meu Timao, the club were initially told by Enel that electricity would return around 15:00, so training began then and the press conference was pushed back. During the session the estimate moved to 17:00 but did not materialise, so Corinthians cancelled and will reschedule next week.
Kaio César was officially announced on Thursday, joining on loan from Al-Hilal until the end of 2026. The deal includes an option to buy 50% of his economic rights for 6 million euros, about R$ 37 million.
The training centre has its own generators, but they were reserved for essential areas including kitchen, hotel and operations, which meant the media session could not take place. With journalists on site, the club opened the first 15 minutes of training.
Players completed roughly 10 minutes of warm-up with passing drills and movement, then split into two groups for the usual rondo before media were asked to leave. Matheuzinho and Memphis Depay skipped the opening phase for physical management but trained later.
José Martínez remains in Venezuela resolving visa issues and has not yet returned from holidays. The squad reconvene on Saturday, then travel to Brasília in the late afternoon to face Flamengo on Sunday at 16:00 at Mané Garrincha in the Supercopa do Brasil final.
