Premier League announce August award shortlists | OneFootball

The Premier League have announced the shortlists for both the Player and Manager of the Month awards for August.

The 2026/27 season has just begun but some prizes will be given out early with a mixture of the public vote and expert opinion to decide who wins the August monthly awards.

Two Chelsea players are on the shortlist for August Player of the Month with both Cole Palmer and João Pedro representing the Blues. Arsenal defender Riccardo Calafiori, Manchester City's Rayan Cherki, and Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes are also included. There's also a place for Newcastle United striker Yoane Wissa.

One notable name is new Brentford signing Mamadou Sangaré as is another new arrival, Konstantinos Tzolakis of newly-promoted Hull City.

Indeed, the Tigers' impressive start to the season is reflected in manager Sergej Jakirović being one of four coaches up for the Manager of the Month award.

The Hull boss is joined by Mikel Arteta of Arsenal and two fresh faces in Xabi Alonso of Chelsea and Manchester City boss Enzo Maresca.

Winners will be announced on Monday 7th September.
