Our Premier League Awards honour the best – and worst – of the latest top-flight action, featuring William Osula, Joao Pedro and Morgan Gibbs-White.

Moment of the Week

William Osula has never quite found his feet at Newcastle, with the 22-year-old starting just twice in the Premier League since signing for the Magpies in 2024.

Osula has certainly put his hand up for more minutes this week after his last-minute magic ended Manchester United’s unbeaten run at St James’ Park.

Introduced as fresh legs with Newcastle down to ten men and tiring, the forward burst from inside his own half, clocking the highest top speed in the Premier League among forwards this season (36.3 km/h), and whipped a finish into the far corner.

It was a fine moment for Newcastle, who had felt aggrieved at Jacob Ramsey’s first-half red card. Osula’s winner was the first time a substitute had ever scored a last-minute winner against Manchester United in the Premier League era.

Player of the Week

Is there a player in the Premier League in better form than Joao Pedro? The Chelsea forward made it eight goals in eight league games with a hat-trick to sink Aston Villa.

Chelsea’s clash with their top-five rivals started in nightmare fashion after falling behind inside two minutes, but a perfect Pedro performance hauled them back into the game.

He scored three times, including a lovely lifted finish for his second, in a display that had Liam Rosenior applauding.

Goal of the Week

An instinctive effort from Morgan Gibbs-White earns our Goal of the Week Award, after the midfielder’s brilliant backheeled equaliser at the Etihad. This could be a massive goal in Nottingham Forest’s fight for survival.

Save of the Week

Not every great save needs to be made by a goalkeeper…

Murillo’s heroics on the goal-line are the difference between Nottingham Forest being outside the relegation places or in them right now. West Ham’s win has closed the gap, but a valiant and unexpected result at the Etihad keeps Forest above them – for now.

Stat of the Week

Liverpool just keep letting results escape this season. No team has ever conceded more last-minute winners than the Reds have this season, after Andre’s effort in stoppage time upset the champions in midweek.

Does Arne Slot’s side have fitness issues? Is it a concentration problem? The Dutchman needs to find a solution.

A week to forget for…

Micky van de Ven. Spurs stand-in captain cost his side dearly in a damaging defeat that has dragged the North Londoners right into the relegation mix.

Just moments after Dominic Solanke’s opener for Spurs, Van de Ven was sent off for hauling down Ismaila Sarr. The initial hashed clearance, red card, and concession of a penalty was a three-punch combination that Spurs could not recover from.

Their loss to Crystal Palace feels big. Spurs are a sinking ship, and the club’s leaders are yet to step up.
