The Premier League fixtures are now finally completed in this latest round of matches.

Chelsea had a scare when Wolves equalised and it was 1-1 at half-time.

However, two goals with half an hour to go eventually got them over the line at Stamford Bridge with a 3-1 home victory.

Newcastle United had of course kicked off the action on Saturday, with that 4-1 defeat to Bournemouth that brought a nine game winning run to a shuddering halt.

As well as Chelsea and Bournemouth, the Premier League fixtures also brought victories for Liverpool, Forest, Man City,, Brighton and Fulham.

The only two other teams in the top half of the table who failed to win (as well as Newcastle United) were Arsenal and Villa. A 2-2 draw after Arsenal threw a two goal lead away.

You get weekends like this BUT Eddie Howe and Newcastle United now have the perfect double round of Premier League fixtures in order to bounce back.

This is how the table looks on Tuesday morning (21 January 2025) before these next two rounds of Premier League fixtures are played:

Saturday 25 January

Bournemouth v Forest

Brighton v Everton

Liverpool v Ipswich

Southampton v Newcastle

Wolves v Arsenal

Man City v Chelsea

Sunday 26 January

Palace v Brentford

Spurs v Leicester

Villa v West Ham

Fulham v Man U

Saturday 1 February

Forest v Brighton

Bournemouth v Liverpool

Everton v Leicester

Ipswich v Southampton

Newcastle v Fulham

Wolves v Villa

Sunday 2 February

Brentford v Spurs

Man U v Palace

Arsenal v Man City

Monday 3 February

Chelsea v West Ham

My Conclusions

No Premier League fixtures are easy BUT clearly some are easier.

Away at rock bottom Southampton and then home to Fulham, a brilliant opportunity to get six points and take NUFC into a seriously good place in early February.

As you can see from the other Premier League fixtures in these next two rounds of matches, so many tough games for those in and around Newcastle United, especially those games where teams towards the top are facing each other.
