Uncertainty continues to surround the future of Ferran Torres at Barcelona

While the Spanish forward remains an important part of the squad, growing interest from abroad suggests that his situation could soon take a decisive turn.

According to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo, two major Premier League sides, namely, Manchester United and Arsenal, are both monitoring the Spaniard ahead of a possible summer move.

Ferran’s profile continues to attract attention due to his versatility across the frontline.

Capable of playing as a winger or centrally, he offers tactical flexibility that is highly valued in modern football, something that clubs in England are particularly keen to add to their attacking units.

Strong Premier League interest

Manchester United’s interest appears to be linked to their expected squad reshuffle. The club is searching for a forward who can adapt to different roles, especially with Joshua Zirkzee likely to move on.

Ferran fits that requirement, making him a logical target as they look to rebuild their attacking options.

Importantly, any potential move for Ferran would be independent of their situation involving Marcus Rashford.

The English forward is currently on loan at Barcelona, with a €30m option to make the deal permanent, but that operation is not directly connected to United’s interest in Torres.

Arteta is a fan

Arsenal’s interest, meanwhile, is driven by Mikel Arteta’s admiration.

With Arsenal looking to add depth and quality in forward areas, the Barcelona man is viewed as a viable option should the opportunity arise.

Beyond England, Ferran has also attracted attention closer to home.

As such, Atletico Madrid have been linked with him as a potential successor to Antoine Griezmann, while Inter Milan have even considered including him as part of a deal involving Alessandro Bastoni.

Despite this growing interest, Barcelona have yet to make a call on his future.

Ferran remains under contract until 2027, but there have been no concrete steps towards a renewal.

This leaves the door open for potential movement, especially if the club decide to bring in a new forward in the summer.
