Villa have won five of their last six and are in relatively fine fettle. Leeds meanwhile keep opposition big chances to a premium at Elland Road. From a result perspective, this is a difficult one to call, as the graph below illustrates.
Concentrate on individuals though and the mist starts to clear.
The visitor's recent upturn in fortunes can partly be attributed to some excellent form from Emi Buendia who got a deserved starting spot last time out after several weeks of supersubbing.
Against Bournemouth he scored, created a big chance, and buzzed around with real purpose throughout and that's nothing new. The Argentine boasts a goal involvement every 39 minutes from his last five outings.
He's not immune to firing at the first sight of goal either, as six multiple efforts in his last eight starts demonstrates.Six of his last 10 shots have come from outside the box.
Villa's improved results have coincided with Boubacar Kamara getting more down and dirty. In his last four outings the midfielder has committed eight fouls, one every 37 minutes. His previous eight were spread over 12 appearances dating all the way back to May.
Add in inevitable duels with Ethan Ampadu and Sean Longstaff - who have accrued 2.58 and 2.27 foul involvements per 90 respectively this term - and the likelihood of the French international testing the referee's patience this Sunday is strong.
Almost as strong in fact as Leeds' combative Welshman doing likewise.
Of those foul involvements mentioned above exactly three-quarters have been for fouls for and the unavoidable consequence of this is a consistently high card-count.
Indeed, tack on the tail-end of last season, as Leeds secured promotion, and the 25-year-old has been cautioned seven times in his last 20 starts.
Intriguingly, five of these came at Elland Road.

The last time Arsenal failed to score when hosting their arch-neighbours in the Premier League was way back in 1998 while pertinently the Gunners have taken on the second highest number of shots this season to date.
Forget about their remarkable defensive record, it's their firepower that's worth focusing on here, with one man in particular beginning to come to the fore.
Eberechi Eze's 3.19 shots per 90 ratio is the third best in the top-flight - bettered only by Erling Haaland and Newcastle's Jacob Murphy - and full acclimatisation to his role at Arsenal suggests even greater numbers are to come.Last time out, away at Sunderland he racked up four, his best return since early October.
The 27-year-old has four goal involvements in his last three meetings with Spurs who do tend to cede efforts from deep when away from home.
At Elland Road last month Sean Longstaff took on four attempts. A fortnight earlier Brighton's Yasin Ayari helped himself to five.
It was tempting to go with shots for the England winger - his nine attempts vs Slavia Prague and Sunderland combined taking the eye - but oddly he tends to reserve his high multiples for Champions League contests. In his last three league starts Saka has averaged two attempts per 90. In his last three continental outings that rises sharply to 5.6.
No matter, because a salient fact leads us down another path anyway.
Saka has assisted in each of his last four North London derbies.
As you would expect from a derby of this magnitude it can get a little feisty. The last five NLDs have produced 27.6 fouls per 90 and 5.6 bookings per 90.
When determining which team might err the most it's usually sensible to focus on the visitors, especially as Thomas Frank's side have accrued the third most bookings this term. Then we identify who might receive the lion's share of their unwanted attention.
Here it's a no-brainer. Saka has been fouled every 30 minutes since returning from injury in mid-September. Indeed, no other Gunner - who has played 90 Premier League minutes-plus this season - has been targeted more often.
