It’s now just ten days until the start of the new Premier League season, so who are the favourites for the 2026/27 Premier League title race?

It was a close race last season that ultimately saw Arsenal come out on top and win their first title in 22 years, so they’ll surely be the favourites this time.

Here’s a look at the main teams the bookies are backing ahead of the start of the new campaign…

Arsenal – 6/4

It’s fairly standard for the reigning champions to go into the new season as favourites, and that’s the case here with Arsenal, who are priced at 6/4 by most major bookmakers here in the UK.

Overall, it’s hard to argue with Arsenal as favourites, as they still look to have the strongest squad overall, whilst also adding some fine signings in Bruno Guimaraes and Christos Tzolis, while their rivals all still look in need of work.

Man City – 11/4

It’s going to be City’s first season without Pep Guardiola for a decade, and that makes it hard to predict how they’re going to get on.

Enzo Maresca has a tough job on his hands, as would almost anyone following the legendary Pep, but he isn’t helped by also losing experienced players like Bernardo Silva and John Stones, while Rodri looks set to be next with a move to Barcelona.

There are still so many world class players in this City squad, though, so you can never rule them out, and second favourites feels about right.

Liverpool – 5/1

Liverpool were runaway winners when they came out on top in the 2024/25 title race, but last season slumped all the way down to a final position of fifth in the table.

This led to Arne Slot being replaced by Andoni Iraola, so the Reds will be hoping to improve in 2026/27. The return to fitness of Alexander Isak should also help.

However, it’s not been a great pre-season for Liverpool, which could set alarm bells ringing, particularly with Iraola more or less admitting his players can’t run enough to perform over 90 minutes.

Man Utd – 7/1

Michael Carrick has now been named Man United manager permanently after a strong spell as interim, but the club have been strangely quiet in the transfer market.

With more games to contend with as the Red Devils will be back in the Champions League this season, it’s going to be challenging for Carrick to repeat the magic of last season.

Chelsea – 8/1

Chelsea have been busy as usual, and signings like Morgan Rogers and Maxence Lacroix could genuinely take the Blues to a new level.

Xabi Alonso is also an exciting managerial appointment, but he’s inherited a bloated squad and already lost a key player in Marc Cucurella, so the main structural issues remain at Stamford Bridge, meaning Chelsea surely won’t be serious title contenders.
