Gunners have gone from a 90% chance of winning the title to no longer being favourites
Manchester City are now favourites to win the Premier League title after beating Arsenal on Sunday.
A huge 2-1 victory at the Etihad Stadium, which saw Rayan Cherki and Erling Haaland score to cancel out Kai Havertz’s equaliser, means City can move above the Gunners by beating Burnley on Wednesday.
It marks an incredible turnaround in the title race inside a month.
Following a win for Arsenal over Everton and City dropping points at West Ham in the middle of March, the Gunners were as short as 1/10 with the bookmakers to win their first Premier League title in over two decades. That translates as a 90 per cent probability.
But now, after back-to-back defeats, Arsenal are now a much bigger price at 6/5 (45% chance) to lift the Premier League trophy. During the same time, Man City have gone from 9/1 (10% chance) to odds on at 4/5 to win a ninth Premier League title.
City have been top of the Premier League table for just six days of a season which began last August, but will move back to the top of the pile with a victory at Turf Moor in midweek.
Arsenal are next in action against Newcastle, and will now be expecting to start the day in second place when taking to the field.
