Nottingham Forest fans have issued a pointed reminder to the Premier League after claims Manchester City have been found guilty of multiple financial rule breaches.

According to Nottingham Post, reports state City have been found guilty on all but one of 115 charges, although no official announcement has been made and potential sanctions are unclear.

In early 2024, Forest were docked four points under Profitability and Sustainability Rules after exceeding their £61m loss threshold by £34.5m.

Forest’s appeal was dismissed and they finished the 2023/24 season six points above the relegation zone. Everton also received a deduction that season, losing eight points for a PSR breach.

The Premier League had accused City of breaching financial regulations across 2009 to 2018 and of failing to cooperate with investigations. City have always denied the charges and are expected to lodge an appeal.

After news of the guilty verdict surfaced, City said the process is ongoing, significant elements remain to be completed and it is subject to confidentiality, adding their stance is unchanged from February 2023.

On the pitch in 2024/25, Forest lost 2-0 to City in the FA Cup semi-finals, before Pep Guardiola’s side were beaten by Crystal Palace, then managed by Oliver Glasner, in the final.
