After the Juventus Women’s First Team’s Italian Cup quarter-final first-leg win away at Napoli, coach Massimiliano Canzi and captain Martina Rosucci shared their thoughts

“We needed to get a result today, but we didn’t have one of our best games against a good Napoli side who showed their quality. We know it’ll be tough in the second leg, with a one-goal lead to defend. 

"We’ve played one half of a 180-minute match, and we know that progression isn’t secured yet, and that we’ll have to do better if we want to advance. We never expected it to be easy here, Napoli are proving their worth this year and aren’t in their position in the table by chance.”

“It was important to get back to winning ways after the last match. We can do better, but what mattered most was the result. 

“Beyond the result, my thoughts are with Davinia Vanmechelen, who got injured in the game. It’s always unfortunate when these things happen but, unfortunately, they’re part of the game. I really want to wish her well on behalf of everybody at Juventus.”
