Preston North End striker Milutin Osmajic is attracting interest from Italian side Genoa heading into the final weeks of the window, as the Lilywhites maintain interest in former loan favourites Tom Cannon and Cameron Archer.

Preston striker Osmajic is attracting interest from Italian Serie A outfit Genoa with just two weeks to go until the transfer window slams shut, according to Alan Nixon's Patreon.

Nixon has also reported that Paul Heckingbottom’s side have taken an interest in two former loan strikers, namely Sheffield United's Cannon and Southampton’s Archer.

Osmajic, 27, is entering his fourth campaign as a Preston player, having scored 31 and assisted six in 111 appearances across all competitions for the club after his £2.1 million arrival from Cadiz in 2023.

The Montenegrin, who has never been too far away from an impending controversy, has reportedly caught the eye of Serie A outfit Genoa, with Preston seemingly eyeing moves for Cannon and Archer in case of his exit.

Osmajic, whilst he comes with his flaws, is excellent on his day, with his tenacity and aggression proving to be a nightmare to deal with for Championship opposition over the years.

His departure would leave a huge gap in Heckingbottom's attack, especially with each of Lewis Dobbin, Daniel Jebbison and Michael Smith having left the club over the summer.

Cannon and Archer would be excellent additions for the Lancashire-based outfit, who have added both Jusef Erabi and Delano Burgzorg to Preston's attacking ranks in recent weeks, and now are looking to add some more firepower before the September deadline.

Preston's interest in Cannon and Archer should come as little surprise to anyone, with the pair having both enjoyed brief but excellent loan spells at Deepdale previously.

Cannon has found life tricky since his £10 million switch to Sheffield United 18 months ago, but has previously shown he can excel at Championship level in spells with Preston and Stoke.

The Irishman netted eight in 21 games on loan from Everton during the second half of the 2022/23 season, and despite The Star reporting that Sheffield United have no intentions of letting Cannon go this summer, Preston will be trying their luck nevertheless.
