Preston North End are set to be taken over, and an update on when the transaction is set to happen has been revealed
Preston North End supporters have been handed an update on when they can expect Amr Zedan's takeover to come to fruition.
The Lancashire outfit have stalled under the ownership of the Hemmings family in recent seasons, finishing just 14th in the Championship last season.
North End's 2024/25 campaign was even less comfortable, as they avoided relegation by just one point, with Luton Town, Plymouth Argyle, and Cardiff City suffering the drop instead.
Preston supporters will be eager to see their side show more ambition next season, and their hopes may hinge on whether Zedan completes his takeover.

The Deepdale outfit learned next campaign's Championship fixtures on Thursday, and supporters will be looking forward to their opening day visit to fellow North West club Bolton Wanderers.
Wanderers won the League One play-off final last month, and Preston will be keen to earn all three points against a newly promoted opponent to get their season underway in strong fashion.
North End's first home game sees them host Wolverhampton Wanderers on 22 August, and facing one of last term's Premier League clubs is a tough task.
Reporting via Patreon back in May, Nixon revealed that Saudi-American businessman Zedan had conducted movements behind the scenes regarding his Preston takeover.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, a Lilywhites supporter asked Nixon via X whether his club's takeover or the World Cup final would arrive first, and the journalist replied: "North end takeover mate."
The World Cup final is set to take place on 19 July, so Preston fans can expect to receive exciting news regarding their club sooner rather than later.
Knockout ties are yet to be played, with South Africa taking on co-hosts Canada in the new round of 32, while Brazil, Germany, Morocco, Mexico, the United States, Switzerland, and Argentina are the other countries to make it out of their respective groups so far.

Nixon's aforementioned report from last month reveals that Zedan wants to retain current Lilywhites boss, Paul Heckingbottom, once he completes his takeover.
Meanwhile, enjoying a strong summer transfer window will help Heckingbottom steer the Deepdale club towards the Championship play-off places.
Teams finishing seventh and eighth next season will qualify for the play-offs, which strengthens North End's chances of battling for a place in the Premier League.
Football League World have exclusively revealed that Preston have eyed Swansea City's Josh Key, but are facing rival interest from Queens Park Rangers and Portsmouth.
Should Zedan seal his takeover in the coming weeks, it will help the Lancashire club complete transfers for the likes of Key, who will strengthen their chances of having a successful campaign next season.
Meanwhile, Preston are also interested in Plymouth Argyle forward Lorent Tolaj, according to the Lancashire Post.
Tolaj notched an impressive return of 21 goals and eight assists in 35 appearances across all competitions for the Pilgrims last term, and is consequently highly sought-after this summer.
