Bristol City welcome Birmingham City to Ashton Gate this Saturday for Matchday 12 of the EFL Championship.
The Robins are in fine form, sitting 4th with 19 points after a 3-1 win over Southampton in their last outing.
Birmingham sit 13th with 15 points and will be buoyed by a narrow 1-0 victory at Preston North End midweek.
The last meeting between the two teams ended in a 0-0 draw.
Ben Mead (Robins on Tour): Gerhard Struber will be hoping Bristol City can start to apply a bit of pressure towards Middlesbrough & Coventry at the top of the Championship table, as we return to Ashton Gate on Saturday, for a second home game in a row, and another chance to pick up some vital points, before heading into a very busy November schedule.
Birmingham City are the visitors this time round. The Blue's started off their return to the Championship brilliantly, picking up seven points out of their first three games. However since then, Chris Davies' men have only managed two wins from their last nine games, one of which coming on Tuesday night away to Preston North End.
Both sides will be coming into Saturday's game confident of a result. Birmingham City have a very decent record at Ashton Gate, picking up five wins from their last six trips to BS3. Bristol City on the other hand, will be looking to continue their good start to the campaign and make it three wins from three since that disappointing loss to QPR at the start of October.
It'll be a tough ask though, without new Championship record appearance holder Zak Vyner, who will miss Saturday's game after picking up five yellow cards already this season. This, alongside an injury crisis in the middle of the park for Gerhard Struber, will make Saturday's test even tougher. However I'm still confident the Red's can get a result and add another three points to the board!
Prediction: 2-1
George Revell (Blues Focus): Birmingham City arrive at Ashton Gate buoyed by their 1-0 win at Preston North End in midweek.
Although that victory - one that few predicted - will have given Blues a much-needed boost in morale, Bristol City are a very different proposition. Liam Manning’s side currently sit fourth in the league and come into this one fresh from a 3-1 win over Southampton on Wednesday night.
I said this before the Preston game - and look how that turned out - so take this with a pinch of salt, but I think Bristol, especially away from home, will be a real challenge for Blues.
That said, they’ve been fairly inconsistent results-wise - similar to Blues in a sense - and I certainly wouldn’t rule out getting a result.
All things considered though, I think I’d be pretty happy with a draw.
