Manchester United will be aiming to secure three consecutive wins under Ruben Amorim for the first time as they prepare to welcome Brighton to Old Trafford.

The Red Devils have picked up impressive momentum, beating Sunderland 2-0 before securing a 2-1 victory over Premier League champions Liverpool at Anfield – their first win there since Louis van Gaal’s tenure in 2016, thanks to goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Harry Maguire.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe has seen United climb to ninth in the Premier League table, and they could rise as high as third – level on points with rivals Manchester City – should results go their way this weekend.

Historically, United have had the upper hand against Brighton, winning 16 of the 28 meetings. However, the Seagulls have been a bogey side in recent years, winning six of the last seven fixtures – including three straight victories at Old Trafford.

Mbeumo will be one to watch after his standout performance at Anfield and could pose a real threat to Brighton’s defence.

Fabian Hürzeler’s side head to Old Trafford in solid form, unbeaten since a 2-1 loss to Bournemouth in early September.

They arrive following back-to-back wins over Chelsea and Newcastle and sit just one point behind United in the table.

Brighton remain defensively vulnerable, with only one clean sheet in their last 20 matches – a 2-0 win against Wolves in May. But their recent record at Old Trafford makes tomorrow’s clash a genuine challenge for United.

Hürzeler will be without Adam Webster, Jack Hinshelwood, Brajan Gruda and Solly March through injury, while Kaoru Mitoma and Joel Veltman miss out due to fitness issues.

Former Manchester United forward Danny Welbeck will likely play a key role once again after his winner against Newcastle.

The match will be broadcast live on Sky Sports in the UK, with a kick-off time of 17:30 [BST].
