Manchester United will contest their first match since the departure of Ruben Amorim when they travel to Turf Moor to face Burnley on Wednesday evening.
Amorim was dismissed as head coach on Monday following a 1-1 draw away to Leeds United, bringing an end to his 18-month spell in charge.
Former United midfielder and current under-18s coach Darren Fletcher is set to take charge of his first senior match, though it is unclear whether the 40-year-old will remain in the dugout for Sunday’s FA Cup third-round tie against Brighton.
The Red Devils currently sit sixth in the Premier League table and boast an eight-game unbeaten run against the Clarets.
Mason Mount and Bruno Fernandes are both expected to return to the matchday squad, while Amad, Bryan Mbeumo and Noussair Mazraoui remain unavailable due to their involvement at the Africa Cup of Nations. Matthijs de Ligt, Harry Maguire and Kobbie Mainoo are still side-lined through injury.
Burnley, meanwhile, come into the match on the back of a 2-0 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion at the weekend. Scott Parker’s side are without a win in 11 league matches, with their last victories coming against Leeds United and Wolverhampton Wanderers in October.
The Clarets sit 19th in the Premier League and will be without Zian Flemming due to fitness issues, while Axel Tuanzebe is away on international duty. Josh Cullen, Zeki Amdouni, Maxime Estève, Jordan Beyer, Joe Worrall and Conor Roberts are all ruled out through injury.
The reverse fixture earlier this season saw Manchester United edge a dramatic 3-2 victory at Old Trafford, with Bruno Fernandes converting a 97th-minute penalty to seal all three points.
The match will be broadcast live on Sky Sports in the UK, with kick-off scheduled for 20:15 GMT.
