Portsmouth host Millwall at Fratton Park on Saturday in round 16 of the Championship.
The hosts sit 20th with 14 points and will be looking to bounce back after a 3-2 defeat to Hull City in their last outing. John Mousinho’s side know a home win is vital as they fight to climb out of the relegation zone.
Millwall, meanwhile, are aiming to stay in the top six and come into the weekend in sixth place with 25 points. Alex Neil’s side drew 1-1 with Preston North End before the international break and will be hoping to return from the break with a positive result on the road.
The last meeting between the teams ended in a 2-1 win for Millwall, giving Portsmouth plenty of motivation to turn the tables.
Freddie Webb (Pompey News Now / PO4cast): The international break came at a perfect time for Pompey.
One win in the last 11 matches, the side have been struggling creatively while committing costly errors in defence.
Millwall look to be on the front foot as one of the Championship's most aggressive pressing teams. There is hope for John Mousinho’s side though.
Nico Schmid, Adrian Segecic, and Callum Lang, have all been training and said to be fit for Saturday.
Given Pompey's catastrophic injury record though, fans will be waiting to see it to believe it. The hope is the returning players will galvanise a team desperately lacking confidence.
