Eintracht begin the 2026/27 season away to SC St. Tönis 1911/20 in the DFB Cup first round proper.

Forty-one days after the start of pre-season, Adi Hütter’s side play their first competitive fixture of the campaign on Friday 21 August. Their opponents in the first round of the DFB Cup are SC St. Tönis 1911/20, who play in the Oberliga, the fifth tier of German football. The meeting at the Grotenburg-Stadion in Krefeld kicks off at 18:00 CEST. 

Focused on target “The focus is fully on the first competitive game,” said sporting director Timmo Hardung ahead of the clash. “It’s been a long pre-season so there’s great anticipation. Now it’s about getting through to the next round.” 

Match-sharp opponents While the Eagles face their first competitive assignment following numerous training sessions and six friendlies, their opponents are already two steps ahead. St. Tönis began their new Oberliga Niederrheincampaign with a 3-2 win at home to 1. SpVg Solingen-Wald 03 last weekend. Before that, they beat FC Büderich 3-2 in the Lower Rhine Cup. ´´
