Prosecutor shelves criminal probe into access to the villa of Xabi Alonso in Igeldo

The public prosecutor has shelved a criminal investigation into the road access to Xabi Alonso’s villa in Igeldo.

According to Diario Vasco, the probe followed a complaint by two environmental groups alleging the access was unlawful.

The courts still have to rule on the underlying issue, the legality of the building licence for the house.

That licence was appealed, and the case remains active.

The prosecutor’s decision concerns the criminal complaint, while the court process on the permit continues.
