The 24-year-old won threeLigue 1 titles and successive Champions League trophies at PSG, but expressed interest in an exit in search of a more prominent role.

Barcola scored 34 goals across the last two campaigns but was forced to share minutes with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Desire Doue. Last season, he did not start a Champions League fixture from the quarter-finals onwards.

Upon his exit, Enrique praised the winger and said he was an important part of PSG's growth in recent campaigns. He said he understood Barcola's decision to leave and wished the France international success in thePremier League.

Barcola could make his debut for Liverpool when the Reds face Ipswich Town in the Premier League this evening.

“Barcola grew enormously in Paris, but he also helped the team grow enormously,"Enrique said ahead of PSG's clash with Monaco tonight.

“He wanted more playing time than I could guarantee him. In the end, I think everyone is a winner with that transfer. I truly wish him all the best."
