The LFP does not intend to force Paris FC to stage a post-match presentation of PSG’s French title trophy on Sunday at 21:00, though a small ceremony could still take place beforehand.
According to L'Équipe, the league had asked Paris FC to host the ceremony after the game between the two Paris clubs, after PSG sealed the title with a 2-0 win at Lens on Wednesday night.
The promoted club said they did not want that, particularly after the match, as they had long planned end-of-season events, including tributes to out-of-contract players and a fireworks display.
Faced with those organisational constraints, and not wishing to impose on the hosts, the LFP initially accepted there would be no presentation at Jean-Bouin on Sunday. Another date then had to be found.
By Thursday evening, after talks between the three parties, a compromise appeared to be emerging. The trophy could be handed to PSG before the warm-up, in a format different from the usual post-match routine.
