Désiré Doué
Golden Boy 2025 winner Désiré Doué has his eyes set even higher.
Today, Désiré Doué is savoring his crowning as the Golden Boy 2025. The Frenchman hasn’t forgotten his roots or those who support him every day. In the Parisian dressing room, Désiré Doué quickly established himself as a valued, respected, and even cherished player. He has grown within the collective and wants to keep rising alongside his teammates: "They all congratulated me, starting with the young guys my age I'm really close to, like Warren Zaire-Emery, Bradley Barcola, Senny Mayulu. Hakimi cracked one of his jokes. As soon as he saw me arrive at the training center, he kept calling me Golden Boy. He just kept repeating: Golden Boy, Golden Boy, Golden Boy! But I have to thank all my teammates, because it’s thanks to them that I’m being recognized. If we hadn’t won matches, if we hadn’t played the way we did, if we hadn’t lifted trophies, I wouldn’t have received this award. My future ambitions? Always aim for the highest goals, just like this year."
Now with the Golden Boy trophy on his résumé, Doué is fully aware of the symbolic weight of this honor. The rising star hopes for a steady, lasting ascent, following in the footsteps of the legendary winners who have shaped the award’s history: "I dedicate this to my family. Then, of course, to my teammates, the coach, the staff, the management, and everyone working for the club, with a special thought for our great president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, who believed in me and brought me to Paris Saint-Germain. Without them, I wouldn’t have been able to win the Golden Boy. It’s a true honor to be on this list and to be mentioned alongside some of the greatest names in football. Players who have won this award, like Messi, Agüero, Haaland, Mbappé — they’re all outstanding players. They’ve had, or are having, incredible careers and inspire me every day. So it’s a huge source of pride."
