A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona is attracting transfer interest by way of French champions Paris Saint-Germain.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who highlight Eric García as the player in question.
Stopper Eric is for his part of course fresh off a stellar opening to the new campaign.
Building on a fine run of form to close last season after being shifted to a right-back berth, the former Girona man has established himself as one of the first names on the team sheet of boss Hansi Flick.
Eric’s versatility has also been on full show across this stretch, with the 24-year-old having showcased his talents at all of right-back, left-back, centre-back, and in midfield.
With such ongoing excellence, though, comes inevitable outside interest.
As per a report from Sport, ahead of the upcoming showdown between the tournament holders and Barcelona in the Champions League on Wednesday:
‘Luis Enrique’s PSG are closely monitoring the progress of Eric’s contract talks and are clear that negotiations could be held with the player within three months if his continued contract has not been finalized.’
Eric, as things stand, is due to depart Catalunya’s capital as a free agent next summer.
