For the first time since 2012-13, Paris Saint-Germain have failed to win any of their opening three Ligue 1 matches, recording two draws and one defeat.

PSG drew 2-2 with Rennes, then 2-2 with Lille, before a 1-2 home defeat to AS Monaco on Friday night.

In 2012-13, Paris opened with three draws, against Lorient 2-2, AC Ajaccio 0-0 and Bordeaux 0-0.

That slow start did not stop PSG winning the title at the end of that season, finishing 12 points clear of OM, the runners-up.

It was the club’s first league crown of the QSI era.
