PSG and Barcelona will face off on October 1 in the UEFA Champions League group stage, with both teams riding the momentum of strong starts.
The reigning Champions League winners kicked off their campaign in impressive fashion, cruising to a 4-0 victory over Atalanta with two goals in each half, even without Désiré Doué and Ousmane Dembélé.
Barcelona responded with a hard-fought 2-1 win at Newcastle United, thanks to a brace from Marcus Rashford. With both sides seen as serious contenders, this clash could be a key moment in shaping their group-stage campaigns.

Both teams continue to navigate injuries to their squad. PSG defeated AJ Auxerre 2-0 on Saturday at the Parc des Princes. However, that win came at a cost, as Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Vitinha exited the game early.
“Unfortunately, I can’t say anything,” Luis Enrique said postgame (h/t Culture PSG). “It’s not positive, but we have to wait for the medical staff tomorrow or the day after to know exactly what type of injury they have.”
Meanwhile, Barcelona have been hit by injuries to Raphinha and Joan García, but they get a lift as Lamine Yamal is back to full fitness after missing the last few games.
“We all believe it’s the perfect moment for Lamine to come back,” Flick told reporters. “We’re delighted to have him available against Real Sociedad. If he’s on the bench, that means he’s ready for minutes.”
