According to a report from ICI Paris Île-de-France, PSG have launched an offensive for Achraf Hakimi (26) to win the African Ballon d’Or. The award is handed to a player who has been deemed to be the best African player across the season by the continent’s football governing body.

It was a successful season for the Moroccan international last season. The right-back played a major role during Les Parisiens’ historic treble season, which included the club’s maiden UEFA Champions League crown. The former Inter defender made 55 appearances across all competitions, scoring 11 goals and registering 16 assists.

Hakimi to be PSG’s second Ballon d’Or winner?

If the Moroccan captain were to be given the CAF award, he would become the French capital club’s second “Ballon d’Or” winner, after Ousmane Dembélé was given the France Football version of the award. Les Parisiens certainly believe Hakimi deserves to win, as they plan to launch a campaign to promote his merit.
