Moroccan defender Achraf Hakimi, a key player for Paris Saint-Germain, will soon have to answer before the French courts to rape allegations dating back to February 2023. The decision to send the Moroccan international to the criminal court of Hauts-de-Seine comes after several months of judicial investigation. However, the exact date of the trial has not yet been announced.

The case originated from a complaint filed by a young woman who claims she was assaulted at the player’s home in Boulogne-Billancourt following a meeting arranged via social media. Since the opening of the proceedings, Hakimi has strongly denied the allegations and insists that the accusations do not reflect reality.

On his X account, the Parisian right-back reaffirmed his stance and his trust in the justice system.

“Today, a rape accusation is enough to justify a trial even though I contest it and everything shows it is false. It is as unfair for the innocent as it is for genuine victims. I am calmly awaiting this trial, which will allow the truth to come out publicly.”
