PSG players slammed by French press after Monaco defeat | OneFootball

PSG got some horrible player ratings in the French press after another disappointing game from the Parisians in Ligue 1.

PSG are slow starters by design – they want to peak in May, not September. And that’s worked well for them in the last few years.

But still, another game passed by without a win on Friday. The Parisians were beaten 2-1 by Monaco after another lacklustre display.

The marks out of ten given by L’Equipe tell you everything about their thoughts on the game.

Safonov gets a low mark, but so does Pacho, Vitinha, and Joao Neves.

Achraf Hakimi, Marquinhos, Warren Zaire-Emery, Fabiran Ruiz and Desire Doue aren’t much better,

The only players to come away with any credit are Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Magnes Akliouche.

All of the starters on Friday bar Akliouche were at the club last season – there should be more familiarity between them at this point.

Overall this team can get a lot better, and nobody is panicking despite a winless start to the season. Complacency was the big enemy this season, and so far the struggles in overcoming it have been entirely predictable.

In other news…

As you can see above, the form of Matvey Safonov has been a concern to start the season – he’s just not been at his best, conceding 6 from 9 shots on target.

It’s been a slow start to the season in terms of results, but the situation around summer signing Lucas Digne is much more concerning than that.

Chelsea have been linked with some very ambitious ideas about signing a key PSG player.
